It has been a standing tradition in the Bikram World for all Bikram Schools to be closed on July 9th in honor of the passing of Bikram’s beloved guru, Bishnu Ghosh. This year, however, all schools will remain open with full, normal schedule.
Instead of closing, all Bikram Schools on July 9th will donate the proceeds of that day’s earnings to the Ghosh’s Yoga College Trust Fund.
With the recent passing of Ghosh’s son and Bikram’s best friend, Bisu Ghosh, Ghosh Yoga College is having some financial hardship.
Ghosh’s Yoga College is where it all began. The entire lineage of Bikram Yoga starts at Ghosh Yoga College. Founded in 1923 by Bishnu Ghosh, the school was where Bikram began his yoga training at the young age of 4. Years later, Rajashree, too, would receive her yoga training there.
None of us yogi’s would be here today if it were not for Bishnu Ghosh and his Ghosh Yoga College.
The school is very sacred to not only Bikram but everyone who has or ever will attend a Bikram Class. So, please, show up on July 9th and take class with us. Help us to give as much money as possible to the Ghosh Yoga College Trust Fund.

Ghosh Yoga College is now run by Bisu’s daughter, Bishnu Ghosh’s granddaughter, Muktamala Ghosh.
Rajashree’s guru, Dr. P.S. Das, still offers his Yoga Therapy at Ghosh Yoga College 3 days a week.
