Here’s a few things about our school that’ll help get you ready for an amazing yoga experience!

The first few weeks of a Social Deal are CRAZY BUSY!  Be prepared to have classes closed because they are full to capacity in the first few weeks.  Remember you have a full year to redeem your 2 Months of Yoga.

Important Rules...

You must email a reservation for your first class only at Global Yoga.  Email us at globalyoga@yahoo.com (NO PHONE RESERVATIONS)  Your Social Deal will start on that day so if you do not call us 24 hours in advance to cancel, that reservation will be honored.  That  reservation time starts the Social Deal.  You must show up 15-20 minutes early for your first class!  You cannot be late or exactly on-time for your first class...you will have to wait for the next class.  This is out of respect for everyone waiting for class to start on time!

A few of our bigger classes are closed to Social Deal Coupon Holders always.  These classes are Saturday 9am, Sunday 9am, and Monday 6:30pm.  These three classes are our most crowded classes of the week.  We will update this page if and when we can open these classes to Social Deals...so check back often.

We’re one of the first Bikram Yoga schools in San Francisco, second to Bikram’s original school.  We’re not deluxe...we don’t have showers...but we have the best opportunity for you to have the best Bikram Yoga Class experience.

Mary Jarvis, owner and fearless leader, has been practicing for over 25 years and is known all over the world for her informative and comprehensive yoga seminars.  There are over 75 yoga studios all over the world the owners of which all came from Mary’s school, including the majority of the Bay Area schools.  Here is what might be different at Global Yoga than other schools you may have practiced at:

When Mary first started this yoga in 1984 there was no water and no hand towels in the yoga room.  They were not allowed...and we all wore one-piece bathing suits !  You will notice that Mary and her teachers and most of her longtime experienced students do no drink water in class...most of the people who have water bottles in class are visiting from other schools.

Don’t feel guilty or confused.    Nobody is going to yell at you if you sip your water.  These are some of the reasons why we don’t drink water.  The first reason is this is a yoga class and not a gym workout.  Holding still in the posture.  Holding still not in the posture.  Mouth closed.  Breathing through the nose.  Normal breathing. That’s it.  Drink plenty of water before and after class.  And while you are in class focus on the  one thing that makes a yoga class a yoga class...your breath.  The better you are at breathing you will not suffer through heat or cold.

We require everyone to stay on their yoga mats at all times in the yoga room.  This keeps the carpet dry.  Your yoga mat must be waterproof.  

Mary does not allow hand towels in her school.  The beauty of Bikram Yoga is that We don’t use props.  All you need is your self.  Your body has creative intelligence if you only allow the body to figure things out...slipping and sliding and learning how not to.

PARKING TIPS:  The easiest times to park around the Marina is for the 6am and 7am classes as parking meters do not begin until 9am and especially the 7am weekend classes where there is a ton of parking available in the early morning.  The same is true for the 3pm classes during the week.  Do something great for yourself...have yoga for dinner at 8:15pm.

*SATURDAYS 9AM, SUNDAYS 9AM AND MONDAYS 6:30 PM ARE CURRENTLY CLOSED TO SOCIAL DEAL COUPONS.  THESE ARE OUR MOST CROWDED CLASSES OF THE WEEK.

FOR FIRST CLASS RESERVATIONS, PLEASE EMAIL US AT GLOBALYOGA@YAHOO.COM REMEMBER:  YOU STILL HAVE TO BRING IN YOUR SOCIAL DEAL CONFIRMATION EMAIL EITHER ON PAPER OR ON YOUR PHONE.

 You have to email request 24 hours before requested class.

We are not at computer all day.

....If you have sent an email requesting one of the closed times,please re email with a second choice. We will send you an email confirmation for your second choice. If you were requesting not these times...look for a confirmation email from us soon.

Remember we require a 24 hour email request time.

If you arrive late without a confirmation,you may not get in. (Many Coupon holders are showing up at exactly class time and it impossible to start the class on time which makes everyone else mad...Yikes!) 

Because of this situation,you will  NOT be allowed to take that class if you show up within 10 minutes of the class starting time.

You will have to wait for the next class.

I have to be firm about this!

I definitely do not want you wasting your time coming to a 

class and being turned away because there is no room.This would suck!

We have been advised  by the Social Deals that it is crowded in 

the beginning few weeks 

and then levels off after a few weeks.

You have time to redeem your coupon!

It is important to me that you have a good experience!

ALSO..you do NOT have to reserve any other classes after your first class appointment.Just the first one only!
