What we DO with our bodies is as important as what we put IN our bodies.  Bikram Yoga is one of the best and most efficient ways to not only change the shape of our body but is also one of the best methods I’ve ever come across to detox the entire body.  With the right DIET and a regular Bikram Yoga Practice, you can transform yourself into a PRACTICING PHYSICAL IMMORTAL.  Or if you’re not that ambitious, at the very least, you can de-pudge, de-stress, de-tox, de-age your entire being in no time at all.


The following is a list of different supplements and foods that I’ve found to be extremely beneficial in boosting the immune system, reducing stress, and kick-starting the body’s metabolism bringing us back to the shape we were always meant to be.


REMEMBER:  THIS IS ONLY A SUGGESTION OF HOW YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR DIET TO HELP WITH YOUR YOGA PRACTICE AND CHANGE NOT JUST THE SHAPE OF YOUR BODY BUT THE STATE OF YOUR MIND.  ALWAYS MAKE ANY CHANGES TO YOUR DIET SLOW AND CAREFUL.  AND ALWAYS CONSULT A PHYSICIAN.  WE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR ANYTHING THAT MAY OCCUR WHEN USING THE FOLLOWING SUGGESTIONS.

Bikram Yoga & Nutrition

The Basics

If you want to change your body shape in a fast, effective way, there are some simple, easy to follow steps you can implement into your daily routine of diet and exercise.  These steps are what we call “The Basics”.  Even if you do nothing else than these basic steps, you are guaranteed to see immediate results.

  1. 1. Take the 90 Minute Bikram Yoga Class a MINIMUM 3 Times a Week.  This is the bare minimum if you want to see results fast.  The more classes you take, the faster you see and feel the results.

  2. 2.  Cut out BREAD, RICE, & PASTA from your diet COMPLETELY.  If you notice you’ve been trying so hard to lose that gut and it just never seems to go away, the reason is you eat too much bread, rice, and pasta.

  3. 3.  NO MORE REFINED SUGARS in your diet.  No more soda’s, no candy bars, no more ice cream.  Anything you eat that contains the words “High Fructose Corn Syrup”, stay far away.  Here’s a simple rule to buying your food.  IF ANY INGREDIENT IS A WORD YOU DO NOT KNOW, DO NOT EAT.  The ingredients in your food should be simple and organic. 

  4. 4.  Keep the high sugar fruits (e.g. banana’s, apples, oranges) to a minimum.  A good rule of thumb about eating fruits is EAT YOUR FUIT IN THE MORNING or right after a Bikram Yoga Class.

  5. 5.  EAT  YOUR GREENS!!!  Salads are good.  Throw in your favorite veggies.  BUT CUT DOWN ON THE SALAD DRESSING.  Most calories in your salad come from the dressing.  Keep the dressing to 1-2 tablespoons.  Enjoy the taste of your romaine and tomatoes.  Don’t drown them in the thousand island.

  6. 6.  WE SHOULD NOT BE DRINKING OUR CALORIES.  Juicing of dark green vegetables, wheat grass, blue-green algae, and water.  A great substitute for soda addicts is unsweetened Iced Yogi Tea (Green Tea Flavor). 

These 6 simple steps are a great start to changing your diet, your mind, and your body.  Ideally, you work you way towards a vegan diet.  But for now, let’s just focus on moving more and eating a little less of the crap we usually put in our mouths.

Supplements

Superfoods like wheatgrass and blue-green algae are absolutely amazing for our bodies and minds.  You can cover most of your vitamins and minerals if you take wheat grass and blue-green algae on a regular basis.  If you take blue-green algae and wheat grass you will never be dehydrated from doing a ton of yoga.  Then again, if you have control of your breath in the yoga class, you will not get dehydrated either, but that is another web page.

9 Chlorophyll (wheatgrass) rebuilds the bloodstream.  Studies of various animals have shown chlorophyll to be free of any toxic reaction.  The red cell count was returned to normal within 4 to 5 days of the administration of chlorophyll, even in those animals which were known to be extremely anemic or low in red cell count.


10 Farmers in the Midwest who have sterile cows and bulls put them on wheatgrass to restore fertility.  (The high magnesium content in chlorophyll builds enzymes that restore the sex hormones.)

33 Wheatgrass implants (enemas) are great for healing and detoxifying the colon walls.  The implants also heal and cleanse the internal organs.  After an enema, wait 20 minutes, then implant 4 ounces of wheatgrass juice.  Retain for 20 minutes.
